Phase 5: Accountability

Typically January and February

Most come back at this time of year better rested.  However, those that have done this work in the past will start to look ahead at getting organized and prepared for what they know will be a very busy spring season.  You will be asked to attend many Assessment Department trainings, and teachers will ramp up their focus on intervening for students that are still not meeting academic expectations.  Your support in that intense focus will be crucial.  It’s also a time when observing in classrooms is as important as ever.

Schedule, Job Duties, and Expectations

  • Along with your Principal, plan spring semester activities to tend to the Social and Emotional needs of your staff.
  • Plan to attend quite a few Assessment trainings to help you prepare for the upcoming state assessment season.
  • This time should be when T-TESS observations are completed.  If there are teachers on growth plans, this time is critical for being present and offering support.
  • Develop and send out by February a Summative T-TESS Survey to gather evidence for those that you may be assigned to appraise.

To Do’s in January and February

  • Start the new year right with these things to do in January.
  • You are on the home stretch so check off these tasks in February.
