Year One – Principals

Onboarding Guide for New Principals

The Onboarding Guide for New Principals is composed of seven phases that are designed to support you through your first year in your new role. For those Principals that are not hired at the beginning of the school year, it is important that you review the information contained in the Onboarding Guide for New Principals and coordinate with your Area Superintendent on what needs to happen immediately.

As a principal in Round Rock ISD, you will be evaluated using the Texas Principal Evaluation and Support System (T-PESS) that utilizes the Texas Principal Standards. This guide has been aligned with the best practices contained within the T-PESS system. Within the T-PESS system, there are five standards. Round Rock ISD’s Onboarding Framework for Principals is built with these standards in mind.
